Grayscale on the Monarch

Hello, all! I have been experimenting with grayscale on the Monarch and decided to share my findings here. While it is best to make graphics using only black and white, grayscale can be a helpful tool when making graphics for both the Monarch and a variable height embosser.

The point at which gray shows up on the Monarch depends on value and line weight, so I varied those in the graphic I tested (attached as PDF). Without using any filters, values below 40% gray do not show up, while values at and above 80% gray show up almost completely. More and more of the values appear as the “more detail” filter is applied, with even 1-point dashed lines in 20% gray showing up at the maximum detail level.
