Scrcpy

Hi. This should be my third post. I’m a little behind due to some unexpected issues with my wife’s health. This means that I haven’t had much time to work with my Monarch over the summer and, again, I’m behind.

Anyhow…I’m trying to use the SCRCPY feature so I can project the Monarch onto my laptop and I don’t seem to be able to make that happen any longer. Was there an update that prohibits this now or did I forget? Or is there a new trick I need to learn?

Any help here would be fantastic.

Jerry

Hi Jerry, good to have you back! I hope your wife’s health concerns have been resolved. As we had discussed in training, SCRPY is a development tool and is no longer supported. The best way to get visual access to your Monarch is to connect it to a monitor via the HDMI port. Any monitor with HDMI capabilities should work and is essentially “plug-and-play”, meaning, your Monarch should display with no added commands. Hope this helps you get connected. -jeff

Thanks. I had forgotten all about the use of HDMI. I will work on that and hopefully get back to business. Thanks.

So, I have plugged the HDMI cable into the Monarch and I have plugged the HDMI cable at the other end into the HDMI port on my laptop. I got nothing. Do I need a different sort of cable? Do I have to set it up to use the laptop screen? Sorry, I am simply illiterate when it comes to this stuff and I don’t want to break anything.

Hi Jerry. Perhaps I wasn’t clear. At this time, you can no longer use your computer as a monitor. You will need to use a separate monitor with an HDMI port. There are plans for screen casting in the future, but I do not have a timeline.
