Building Early Math Skills with Exposure to Tools

I love hearing about the use of math manipulatives designed for students who are blind or have low vision. There are many tools out there for early learners but exposure to ‘older’ tools is still important. I can remember playing with a plastic protractor way before ever using one for math class. I used braille addition and multiplication charts, braille flashcards, the beginner’s abacus, and Cranmer abacus, very early with my students.

Which tools do you provide your students during their first few years of elementary school?
