I have a question about downloading a book into the Chameleon 20 from Bookshare.
I was able to connect to the Wifi, login to my Bookshare account, search for, locate and find an available copy of the book. But after the device said downloading, Bookshare/the Chameleon 20 said “unable to unzip file.” I know Leslie said in the training module the books have to be unzipped to download. I checked Settings on the device and tried downloading the book with the file format set to both Daisy and BRF.

With the device connected to my laptop, I was able to unzip the Velveteen Rabbitt and with the device connected, via USB, drag that unzipped book into the device.

Is that the only option if the device won’t download a Bookshare file that is zipped?

Hi! did you get an answer to this? I am having the same issue- can only transfer books via computer since the Chameleon does not unzip the files.

I just took a training with the Chameleon and was told it can only go through an computer at the moment for downloads, but they were working on it and hopefully in the future the Chameleon will be able to do it.

Thank you so much for this update !
Cross fingers it will happen, this would open a world of independence for younger users who do not have the skills yet to access the computer for transferring files on their own but could easily do so on the Chameleon directly!
may I ask your training source?

Following here. I had a student that just yesterday was able to download Code Talkers to his Chameleon but when I went to write up instructional notes for homework, I found that I could not on my classroom Chameleon and I was getting that same “error when unzipping the book” message. Would love know about the training that you did, as well, @Jerri_Nelson
