Dear Visual Impairments Field Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Erin A. Foley and I’m reaching out to invite you to participate in a research survey that is part of my doctoral dissertation in a joint program between UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. The study focuses on how well teacher preparation programs are preparing educators in the Visual Impairments Field to teach spatial concepts and skills to students who are blind or have low vision.
The survey should take approximately 15–30 minutes to complete. Your participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses are anonymous and confidential. You may skip any question or exit the survey at any time without penalty.
Your insights and experiences as professionals in the VI Field are incredibly valuable and may contribute to improving future training programs and teaching practices.
To participate in the survey on teaching spatial skills, please use the following link: VI Field Research Survey
If you have any questions about the study, feel free to contact me at erinfoley@berkeley.edu. For questions about your rights as a research participant, you may contact UC Berkeley’s Center for the Protection of Human Subjects at (510) 642‑7461, referencing Protocol ID: 2024-10-17923.
Thank you very much for considering this request and for the important work you do.
Warm regards,
