English Language Arts Teacher of the Visually Impaired
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is currently recruiting for an English Language Arts Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Duties include the ability to provide a comprehensive educational program to students 6-12 with visual impairments, which may include additional disabilities. Bachelor’s degree or higher with an endorsement in language arts is required and certification in vision is preferred or be willing to acquire. Must possess or be eligible for NM Public Education Department licensure. Will be required to become Braille proficient. This is a full-time, nine-month position for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year, with a contract renewal for the 2026–2027 school year. Applications accepted until filled.
Security Guard
The campus Security Guard will safeguard NMSBVI property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing duties including but not limited to: patrolling NMSBVI grounds and buildings, assisting and providing direct support to staff and students on grounds to and from NMSBVI buildings and campus locations, reporting suspicious persons on grounds and maintaining security logs and reports. This is a graveyard shift position with hours from 11:00 PM thru 7:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a full-time, nine-month position for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year, with the possibility of renewal for the 2026–2027 school year. Applications will be accepted until filled.
