Hello there beautiful souls.
Gloria Rich. I will start my third year as a CTVI in 2526SY. ILOVE BEING A CERTified teacher of vissuallubimpaired. Did I say:I love being a TVI.
Being a TVI is my passion and calling. I am interested in learning more about CVI and how I can serve students to the fullest. I am into neuroplasticity how the brain and vision works together. Question? how can we use this information to help our student increase visual awareness. There are so many other impairments connected to the brain and exploring them and understanding them I hope will lead to serving student greater.
I am Houstonian and work in a nearby district.
Hello everyone!
I am a certified TSVI in NC. In the fall it will be my third year as a TSVI. I am very excited to learn more about CVI as we have an ever-growing number of students who present with this diagnosis. Looking forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas with cohorts. Thank you!

I own my own business, VisABLE LLC, where I contract with the state of Texas to provide ILS (Independent Living Skills), O&M (Orientation and Mobility), and soon-to-be Assistive Technology training to clients primarily in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

I love the whole AT field and know that your contributions will be helpful to us all. Looking forward to collaborating
I have not heard of a horticultural therapists. That sounds so interesting. Do you only work with BLV in that area or other individuals with special needs?
I think many districts in our state would benefit from an AIM coordinator for our general education teachers but it is not something that state will invest in it seems. I think that is a great benefit for your county.
What a varried experience base you have. What led you to this class?
Hey,
I am going into year 4, so not far off from you. I find CVI to be very fascinating and have 4 students with that diagnosis.

Sorry I am late to the course. My school year doesn’t end until June 26, 2026…so it’s been busy. I started as a teacher of the deaf in 1983..I added TVI 5 years ago. I work for TST BOCES in Ithaca, NY. I have 3 braille students. The other 10 are vision consultations with the teachers and making sure they can access the teacher’s curriculum. As a new TVI, I look forward to learning from all of you.
