I am always searching ways to improve my skills to help equip students with the tools they need for success in the classroom and beyond. What an amazing role you have!
@kerri.l.clarkin I too have been a TVI/O&M by myself serving a large amount of students, I felt like I was on an island using online resources as my flotation to keep my momentum through the end of the school year. I am still the only TVI serving my students but have luckily crafted a small community through different conferences and webinars. Like you, I am looking forward to learning about tactile graphics and how to utilize them within the educational curriculum.

Hello, I am an itinerant TVI in North Dakota who has worked for ND Vision Services/School for the Blind for the past 27 years. I serve students in the western part of the state who have low vision and blindness as well as CVI. I see students from ages birth through high school and do most of my work during the school year, however, do work some in the summers with early intervention.
I recently have been referred to a little guy who is starting preschool and is learning braille so I am looking forward to this course to give me direction for his programming and to guide his school in the right direction.

Hi. My name is Edie McCloskey and I am an itinerant TVI in rural central PA. I cover all of Cambria county. I work for an Intermediate Union that covers 4 counties. I absolutely love the itinerant teaching model.

I am Eileen Curran, a full time TSVI with the Boston Public Schools and a part time TSVI and AT specialist with the Carroll Center for the Blind. I work with all school-age children, but my passion is with middle and high school students in general education classes. I love teaching braille, assistive technology, and low vision strategies.
I got my teaching license over 40 years ago, in elementary education, moderate special needs education, and education of students with visual impairments. I recently became a certified assistive technology instructional specialist (CATIS). I am legally blind. I so appreciate learning from others, through courses and reading, and through personal experiences.
Prior to getting back into the classroom, I worked for 24 years at National Braille Press.
I most hope to learn from all of you. This is an impressive group! I am enjoying reading your posts.
Greetings from North Dakota! I work as an Outreach Regional Coordinator for ND Vision Services/School for the Blind. I serve infants through age 21 and occasionally work with adults too. After reading the opinions about being a 12-month teacher, I almost wish we had that in Boston. I am still in school. My last day is June 26th. I find eight weeks off over the summer is too long. Several three-week breaks sounds fabulous. The only difficulty I can see in my region is that not all the schools are air conditioned. That can make summer instruction tough.
Thanks for getting me thinking about the pluses of 12-month teaching.

Is UEB fully accepted in Ireland? What is the education of blind and visually impaired children like, compared to South Florida?

I work with Pre-K-12 BLV students. I have students who have no or very little usable vision to students with low vision and several students that have CVI and multiple disabilities.
I have also been fascinated Tactile aide production and it’s importance to this specific population. I am excited to better understand why it’s important and to learn any tips or tricks into making my tactile workflow more efficient and meaningful.
