Course Description: How can we prepare students to confidently navigate tactile graphics? This course equips educators with the skills to bridge braille literacy and graphicacy. By exploring effective instructional techniques, you will learn to set meaningful goals, support student progress, and gain practical tools to build students’ confidence in accessing visual information through touch.

Objectives:
- Define tactile graphicacy and describe how it relates to braille literacy.
- Describe a variety of instructional strategies pertinent to effective tactile graphics reading and tactual perceptive skills.
- Explain the key elements of graphics learning and their role in developing tactile graphics literacy.
- Identify resources that can be used to evaluate students’ tactile perceptual capability and determine areas for targeted instruction.
