What You’ll Do
You won’t just be an administrator—you’ll be a partner in your clients’ success. Your day-to-day will involve:
-
Establishing Eligibility: You’ll be the first point of contact, determining a person’s eligibility for our services and identifying any potential barriers to employment.
-
Building a Plan: You’ll conduct thorough career assessments and work directly with consumers to create an individualized plan for employment. This plan will be tailored to their unique strengths, interests, and goals.

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and three years of relevant experience. We also heavily value professional certifications like the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential.
However, we understand that talent comes in many forms. We will consider applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Sociology, Special Education, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Social Work or a related degree as referenced by statute, with no experience required. If you’re selected with a bachelor’s degree, we’re committed to investing in you—we will cover the cost of your Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, which you’ll need to complete within four years of hire.
Employment Requirements
-
You must either have or be eligible to sit for the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification.
-
You must also be able to obtain and maintain a New Mexico rehabilitation counselor license as defined in the New Mexico Public Education Department Rules (6.63.11).
-
We require all applicants to submit a copy of their unofficial college transcripts.
The Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, but it’s far from sedentary. You’ll be on the move. You’ll travel regularly (including routine overnight stays) within your service area to meet with consumers utilizing an agency vehicle. While you’ll perform most of your work using a computer and phone, the most important part of your job is the human connection. Be prepared to work with individuals who may have additional disabilities and various needs that may result in challenging behaviors. You may occasionally partner with consumers who use service animals.
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement.
