Multiplication dot

When producing math assignments and wanting to enter 3*4 (but using a cdot), the monarch does not recognize the symbol and says the expression is an error. However, when my student uses the multiplication dot (Nemeth 1,6), it shows it and does not call it an error.

What are people using in Microsoft Word (math editor) for the multiplication dot?

Hi Amy!

Try the multiplication “x” sign that appears in the Math Editor options for symbols. This should give you the math braille multiplication “x” sign (dots 4, 1-6 for Nemeth and dots 5, 2-3-6 in UEB).

That was our temporary solution! We ended up finding the cdot working in future assignments, so I must chalk it up to user (ME) error.
