Engaging Students Using I-M-ABLE: General Discussion

Enroll in the Hive course

Course Description: Teaching reading using braille can be a challenging task, especially due to the diversity of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities. If you are working with students who have difficulty learning to read braille using traditional approaches, the Individualized Meaning-Centered Approach to Braille Literacy Education (I-M-ABLE) with its nontraditional approach and supplemental materials may help engage and motivate your student to learn to read and write using braille. Enroll in this course and gain insight into how to use the approach to help a struggling reader become more successful.

(Note: This course requires intermediate knowledge of the Braille code.)
