After seven years in the role, the Director of Student Services and Admissions at the California School for the Blind (CSB) is retiring at the end of this school year. This position has not been open on our campus since 2018, and is a great opportunity for those in the VI field who are interested in working at CSB and/or moving into a school leadership role. We are looking for a visionary, dynamic leader to join our team and help lead CSB into the future.
The Director of Student Services and Admissions provides leadership, supervision, strategic planning, evaluation, and direction CSB’s Related Services providers, including Orientation & Mobility Specialists, School Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and an Occupational Therapist, as well as CSB’s Student Information Services Analyst and Spanish Translator/Interpreter; collaborates with the Principal of Education Programs and the Principal of Career and Vocational Services on a wide range of school topics, including but not limited to policies, procedures, and programming; oversees the CSB admissions process and chairs the Admissions Review Committee; oversees school-wide discipline, including serving as CSB’s Title IX Coordinator; chairs Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings; and coordinates CSB’s WASC accreditation process.
