The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is recruiting for an Accessibility & Graphic Specialist. This individual will support advancements in the digital accessibility and public image of the school. Will be responsible for converting documents, forms, and online materials to accessible versions; creating audio, video, and image descriptions; training staff; supporting creation of various publications, and ensuring digital materials the school uses and publicly shares are accessible. Must possess the ability to accurately demonstrate knowledge of technology, both general technology and technology specific to blindness, and its applications. Associate’s degree (AA) or higher, or certification in desktop publishing, or information accessibility design. Experience in Adobe and Microsoft applications, graphic design templates/software, accessibility compliance testing, or assistive technology for individuals who are blind or with a visual impairment; and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards preferred. Full-time, 12-month position. Applications accepted until filled.
