Hello, all! We at APH are pleased to announce that the guidance documents for creating tactile graphics on the Monarch have been updated. These revisions include new recommendations for line weights, area textures, fonts, and more. “Draw with Word for the Monarch” has not been updated at this time, but the other documents are available for download at the links below:

- [Best Practices and Standards for Creating Monarch Tactile Graphics, A Handbook for Educators and Transcribers](https://louis.aph.org/documents/Best-Practices-Monarch-Educators-Transcribers.docx)
- [Best Practices and Standards for Creating Monarch Tactile Graphics, Reference Document](https://louis.aph.org/documents/Best-Practices-Monarch-Reference.docx)

In addition, the updated area fill textures are now available for download in .CDR format from the Tactile Graphic Image Library, for ease of use in CorelDRAW:

- [Monarch textures (braille)](https://imagelibrary.aph.org/portals/aphb/#asset/5958)

Any and all feedback is welcome!

Thanks,

Caroline Merk
